Well, the time has come, almost. Starting next week I will be a stay-at-home-mom and full-time writer/blogger. I have dreamed of this day since Tinley was born and since I started my little blog. Now the time has come and my emotions are everywhere. So as I usually do I wanted to put all of those emotions on paper (the internet) and share them with you.
First and foremost I am overjoyed. I get to spend every day with my best friend. Seeing her become her own person has been amazing and I’m so happy I get more time to get to know her. Plus her playroom will finally get some use with her being home more often! Right now watching her play in my office with her felt makeup (thank you target) I love our little system already.
I’m also ready to teach and learn. Tinley is so sharp and I think with some time we can have our alphabet down! Not only that but potty training can finally start since she will be home all of the time. She has taught me a lot about myself and about the world in the two short years already so I can’t wait to see what else she teaches me being alone with her every day.
With all of this happiness, I’m also a little scared, who wouldn’t be? The finical strain it’s going to put on my family is something we aren’t used to but we are ready for the challenge. I was only working part-time so it won’t be that much of a difference. Also, the fear of not being good enough is there. I want to make sure Tinley has everything she needs and is well educated. Plus I want to be able to keep up with the housework and laundry. There’s a lot of fear now but once I get into my groove I know that will all wash away.
Lastly, I’m already exhausted. Alex has been gone for FOUR days and nights so momma needs a nap. It was a good introduction to my new life but I will take full advantage of daddy/daughter play time after work. We are going into our twos so I’m sure she will be running my ragged plus I have a three story house I have to try to keep up with. Homemaking and being a Mom really seems like the hardest job in the world but I’m ready to tackle it.
Maybe I can convince Alex that we need to take more Disney trips too!
