I have been M.I.A for the last couple of weeks and so much has happened. The first week I was at home with a sick baby and she passed her illness on to me yay! The following week we closed on our new home! We started on our home improvements and I can’t wait to do more!
Finishing our first project
Our first weekend into our new house we spent the whole weekend cleaning. By “we” I really mean my mom and mother-in-law I kept tabs on the baby and tried to keep myself breathing. The house was coated in a thick layer of dust and my asthma HATED it. After a few days and a lot of vacuuming we finally started moving things into the house.
My husband also started on the first of many projects, unearthing our beautiful hardwood floors. Seriously I am obsessed with these floors in the new house, I wish they were throughout but alas they’re only in the bedrooms. Nerveless I am in love and I can’t believe why anyone would cover these floors. Finishing up this project let us finally move into the bedrooms and we are now living in our new house!
The bedroom is kind of coming along it’s not exactly what I want yet and completely thrown together but it works for now. I have been obsessed with the idea of using dressers as night tables and I have to say they are awesome. The space is unbelievable and they hold all of the crap needed for Tinley and a planner or two. These babies were a garage sale find for only $65 each! I don’t know if I will ever get that lucky again. Alex loves the way they look right now but I kind of want to paint them. What do you think paint or leave mismatched?
Adjusting to the new house
Surprisingly Dean did wonderfully adjusting to the move. I was worried about him because when we moved from my parents’ house he had a hard time with it, but this time around he knew this was his house. He loves laying on the front window’s ledge and guard our home. I can’t wait to put up a fence for him and get him a new puppy!
Tinley also loves the new house! I took her to the old house during the week to grab a few things and she hated it. Her new room is double of the size of her old one and she has taken over the house. She also decided to get up and walk everywhere. The new house made her a walking toddler I guess. Watching her grow in this house will be the greatest adventure.
Alex and I were struggling not having internet for a while especially during the premiere of House of Cards but it’s back on and we can binge watch it all weekend! We are taking this weekend off from projects and catching up on our lives. This house kicked our butts this past week and I’m sure it’s the first of many.
