Finally finishing the nursery

I have been slacking lately I know but getting ready for baby and overall being pregnant is very time consuming. After several weeks though we finally have our little girl’s nursery semi-complete.

I still want to get her monogram above her crib or maybe spell out her name, but for now this will suffice. I am also searching for the perfect glider that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg (or until Alex gets me one as a push present). She will be in our room for the first couple of weeks but I was chomping at the bit to get her room ready.

I did go with the gray and pink theme with a splash of gold here or there. It was kind of necessary to add the gold because everything I found for the color scheme had gold in it and I kind of wanted a little sparkle too!

The ribbon backdrop was made by my mom for my shower and this is where I want to split the two and put her monogram/name. The “love” canvas was actually on clearance at Hobby Lobby and was our guest book for the baby shower and have cute little messages to Tinley. Most of the bins are from Home Goods besides the large one with her many blankets, that’s from Shopko. The mason jars around the room were either made or bought at K-Mart. The flowers in the one mason jar are from Hobby Lobby and they actually are my favorite flowers so hopefully she will love them as much as I do.

The only thing that is brand new is the crib from my dad the rest are repurposed and the dresser is an antique. We had these built in shelves and drawers and I added the adorable glass looking knobs. I had left overs for the diaper changing table as well to bring it into the room.

The room was dark and I hated going into this room but now with a fresh coat of paint and cute accents it’s my favorite room in the house. It was a headache to get Alex motivated to finish the room since pregnant Megan couldn’t really paint or assemble a crib but he finally got his butt in gear. I let him as much as much input as my controlling self would allow because I know getting the room ready is a way for him to feel connected to the baby.

I cannot wait to keep adding on to the room and making it perfect but for now I am happy and can’t wait to bring my baby girl home. Having it this far along makes for a very happy momma.
