I can’t believe I have been a mom for a month now it doesn’t seem real. It has been a trying time for both of us and a major learning experience. I can’t tell you how many times I cried late at night when I couldn’t figure out why she was crying or trying to get her to latch on perfectly. Now a month later I think we are starting to get the hang of it and reading her cues a little better.
I wanted to share a few things that have helped a lot this past month and really are the MVPs of baby products. These are just have worked for us and we love.
Leach Co Podster- This was recommended by a family friend to my mother-in-law so she got us a cute little pink one and Tinley lives in it. We put her down on the couch or in bed with us and she’s perfectly content. It holds her head perfectly and she sleeps in there all day if we let her. We also have her sleep in it at night which we will eventually have to stop but for now it works and allows us to have her I bed but in her own space.
Wubba Nub Pacifier- My heart sank when I had to give her a pacifier for the first time, but I couldn’t have her on me 24/7 because she wanted to suck on something. The first few days we used a normal pacifier we got from the baby shower but it kept falling out so we would have to put it back in about every five minutes so I ordered a Wubba. This pacifier is a hospital grade one with a cute little animal at the end that weighs it down so it stays in their mouths. I got Tinley and penguin because we are snow people but there are a ton out there and next I may get her a lion!
Gas Drops-We just recently started using these because one night I could not get her to stop crying and I remember my friend telling me about gas drops so I thought I would give them a try. They are miracles in a bottle! A few minutes later she was content and ready to start nursing again. She only really needs them at night so it’s not a problem I would need to talk to the doctor about just yet. These really gave us a few extra hours of sleep.
Reusable diapers- No we don’t use them to actually diaper our baby we use them as burp cloths. I tuck one in my bra while I’m nursing so I don’t get soaked by my messy eater. I have to have one on hands at all times.
Those are our top four so far I will share what I have found useful for nursing my little nugget and my experience soon!
